regarding oranges and professor nikki

This is my first time in the TCC library this semester, and I find that odd, because I’m well on my way to a third consecutive 4.0 semester. My statistics teacher might say that time spent in the library and GPA are independent events, but that’s neither here, nor there. Today I find myself with 22 minutes, sitting at trusty computer #20, which is closest to the large windows, offering a scenic view of the 30 feet directly outside the window leading up to the nearest disgustingly brown brick building. Come with me as I sort through an amalgam of thoughts related only by their mind of origin. Let’s do this.

A few thoughts on the following: Lent, Rangers baseball. Click through if you’re interested. Let’s do this.

Mañana, empieza Lent… no se la palabra para “Lent” en español. No voy a comer nigun carne para 6 semanas. Estará muy difícil.

eiffel-tower

This was a souvenir that someone got me from Paris. It’s a bottle of brandy in the shape of the Eiffel Tower, if you can’t tell from the picture. Just thought it was a really cool gift. That is all.

Another short sampling of my very limited skills in Spanish. Vamos.

twenty-five things

If you’re not familiar with the 25 things, it’s a popular facebook note. I’ve decided to publish it in this medium rather than the facebook note, because I would prefer to keep it on wordpress as a draft and edit it whenever I feel like it. Plus I’m not sure I want to tag other people and make them feel like they should do it too. So without further ado, allow me to paste the instructions here and proceed to my 25 things. Let’s do this.

and so on and so forth

•Thu, 15 Jan 2009 • Leave a Comment

“And so on and so forth” is usually a phrase that people say to dismiss something, kind of like “yadda yadda yadda.” But today I’m thinking of and so on and so forth in a different way.

Yesterday I vented a bit, and said some things publicly that I knew were not really public domain, but sometimes I can’t let go until I do something like that. But now the past is in the past. And so on, and so forth. It’s time to move on. And so, on. It’s time to stop looking back and start taking steps forward. And so, forth.

Memories may haunt me, and too much time spent in my own head may give me “the blues,” but time will march on and carry me with it. And so on, and so forth.

May mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.

the ultimate fillibuster

This is scary…

Fran Drescher seeks Clinton’s vacated Senate seat.

She should be considered, if only to strike fear into the hearts of republicans everywhere. A Fran Drescher fillibuster might be the most powerful political weapon in American politics since dueling.

God help us for the fact that this even makes the news.

May mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.

a brief update

•Wed, 26 Nov 2008 • 4 Comments

It’s Wednesday, and I’ve decided to take a break from coughing my lungs up to give a quick update.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, obviously, and I’m incredibly excited to eat a ton of delicious food. It’s been awhile since I had a home-cooked meal, unless you count Totino’s Party Pizza as a home-cooked meal.

Katie has walking pneumonia. That is not fun. Supposedly she’s not contagious, so I shouldn’t get sick. Well I am sick already, but not that sick, and I’m starting to feel better.

I think I’m on my way to another 4.0 semester. I should only have to take one final, and I will probably only have to make a C or a D on the final to keep an A in the class. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I was looking at the UTA School of Social Work website and discovered they require Statistics… so my 4.0 streak seems destined to end next semester. On that note, I am going to try to take 13 hours, and to do so, I will have to take classes Monday through Friday. I’m not happy about this.

I’m currently in search of a new blog title, and I may play around with the layout for awhile before I’m happy with the blog again. Stay tuned.

Time to get some food. I am working tonight, and it should be nice and busy so I can make some money. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

May mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.
