limitless possibilities

Have you ever thought about what you could do with one day if you had no limits?

We (myself, Patrick, Matt, and Mel) decided to find this out on Monday. The planets aligned and all four of us had the entire day off.

As I mentioned in high/low 6, we all went to No Frills on Sunday night… what I left out is exactly what we did at No Frills. We all made lists of things we wanted to do before we die. Some of them were simple things like fly a kite, and some of them were lofty goals like set foot on 5 different continents. But the important thing is that we wrote them down, realizing that we might have another 50-70 years to cross things off the list. I might even be able to complete my list in 10 years and start a new one.

So with experiencing new things in mind, we decided that on Monday we would all hang out together and not put any limits on what we would do. Limitless Possibilities Monday. You can read about LPM here and here. I would post a link to the J’s blog, but he does not have one yet. We planned nothing; we just got in a car and went.

First order of business was food. We decided to find somewhere that none of us had been to…

It was pretty good. It did not by any means knock my socks off, but it was quality Mexican food for a very good price. There were no chips and salsa, which was a major let down.

Then we drove around a little bit in North Arlington and found ourselves at Putt-Putt. I made a few holes-in-one, but was ultimately bested by Patrick.

Here is a putt for par that I made. The J helped me with the read…

Then we went inside because Mel just happened to have a handful of Putt-Putt tokens in her car, so we decided to blow them all. We played some games and collected some tickets. We spent our tickets on frisbees, “Limitless Possibilities Bracelets,” and warheads. Warheads are gross. Here is a picture of Patrick displaying our winnings…

After Putt-Putt we went to Academy to buy boomerangs and try to throw and catch one. (This is on my list.) There are pictures of us failing miserably at boomeranging, but I do not have them yet… check back later because I will put one or two in right here…

After that we went to the J’s Blockbuster to turn in some movies… this was not exciting, but it led us to the mid-cities side of town. So when we finished we were hungry and decided to get some more Mexican food, but this time we required chips and salsa. So we went to Mi Pueblo…

My hair looks pretty nasty and greasy in that picture, I hope it didn’t look like that all day.

With our bellies full of delicious Mexican food, we went to Northeast Mall for a few minutes. Mel pretended to be Rasta.

The J and I pretended to be hermit crabs.

Then we went to Mel’s office to play some Phase 10.

I pretended to be a youth director…

From there we hit up Wal-Mart pretty quickly and by the time we got out of there it was midnight, and therefore the possibilities were no longer limitless so we called it a night.

The weather was nice and we spent quite a bit of time outside enjoying it. We actually ran out of gas at one point but were lucky enough to coast right up to the pump. We did things that we normally wouldn’t do. Most days if we have the day off we will just stay home, watch tv, or maybe spend hours at No Frills. But we set out in search of a great day, and a great day is exactly what we found.

I highly recommend that everyone do this with their friends at least once. Don’t plan anything, just get in the car together and see where the day takes you. Until next time,

Stay thirsty my friends.
